Daily Update

Troubled Waters

Hello there dear reader, I hope this update finds you in the mood to read this update.

In site news I am pleased to announce the first part of The Pamplemousse & Gang Adventures episode, Trouble on the High Seas, has been posted. For those of you who are unsure if you want to here is a small excerpt:

When Baguette came home after work she found me huddled in a corner surrounded by several empty bottles of Shiraz. Although she knew this wasn’t totally out of character for me, she could also sense that something might be especially wrong, mainly because I was singing old sea shanties, which I only do when I am really out of sorts. When I got to the end of A Hundred Years Ago I noticed that she was standing with her hands on her hips, shaking her head and looking disappointed but concerned.

“Honey, what’s happened here?”

“God, yer…yer so hot.”

“Yes, I am. But what’s gotten you so bothered that you’ve drank,’ she paused to count the bottles, ’six…seven bottles of Shiraz?”

“I love youz, maybe…mebee hte mosht…mosht in the worwd…did ‘chu know that?”

“I did, and I love you also. But honey, why are you this drunk on a Tuesday afternoon? Did you even go to work today?”

“Werk iz fer jerkssss…I din’t wanna go, so’s I callz em this morn’n'n to let her be aware that…,”

She cut me off, “Okay, so you didn’t go to work today, I can live with that. You’re drunk on a Tuesday, I’m used to that. The question really is why. Why are you home from work, and drunk, on a Tuesday?”

“God, yer…yer so hot.”

At this point she shook her head again, put my sea shantie CD on and headed to the bathroom off of the Master Bedroom. Over the rousing chorus of Eliza Lee I heard the shower start. She had been in there for a length of time I was much too drunk to remember when the phone rang.

I can only hold my breath and pray that this small sample of an episode that is slightly longer then this will be enough to make you read the entire thing. I mean, it took me a whole three hours to write, which seems totally worth it for a piece you’ll read in about ten minutes. Even though you might think the writing time to reading time ratio doesn’t seem to balance out in my favour, it actually does. If you like my stuff and keep reading it I’ll eventually find a way to make money from your commitment to my art, and that’s really what this is about, isn’t it?

In other site news I am working on a better way to manage the archives of the Daily Updates. Look for some changes after the weekend. In regards to the weekend I hope everyone has a safe and fun one. You’ll probably hear from me on Monday, baring any kind of disaster that would render me incapable of typing.

You can’t see it, but I am attempting to touch every part of my body to some wood right now.

Later skaters,
~Pamplemousse~
